Project Brief

We managed the design collaboration, manufacture, and supply of the LGSF, which formed the framework for six three-storey properties.. Each property was clad in brick and brick slips to achieve a traditional look, while the steel system delivered strength and efficiency.

While installation was carried out by the main contractor, RDE Construction worked closely with the project team to ensure the frames were engineered to precise architectural and structural specifications. The Slone Frame System was chosen for its strength, precision, and speed, making it ideal for a busy London development.

Development

Our role in the project involved three key stages:

Design Collaboration:

• Worked alongside the contractor and design team to develop a bespoke LGS solution that met the project’s architectural and structural requirements.
• Ensured seamless integration with brick and brick slip cladding, combining structural stability with aesthetic appeal.
• Provided specialist advice on load-bearing capacity and thermal efficiency to enhance the performance of the final build.

Manufacturing the Steel Frame System:

• Produced precision-engineered Light Gauge Steel Frames off-site, ensuring consistency, reduced waste, and controlled quality.
• Frames were manufactured to exact dimensions, enabling fast and accurate assembly on-site.

Supply and Technical Support:

• Delivered the steel frames in line with the construction schedule to ensure a smooth and efficient build process.
• Provided on-site technical support to guarantee correct installation and alignment with the design specifications.

Outcome

The successful supply and integration of our Slone Frame System enabled the efficient construction of six new homes in Wood Green. Our steel frames reduced construction time compared to traditional methods. This allowed the project to stay on schedule.

The system provided a robust and durable structural solution. Each property complied with modern building regulations and performance standards. By delivering a cost-effective and precise steel frame solution, RDE Construction played a key role in the project’s success.
